EDF for Bank of Baroda: how to fill and submit it
If your foreign clients pay into a Bank of Baroda account, Bank of Baroda is your AD bank for the EDF, and that is where your monthly export declaration for services goes. Like every bank, Bank of Baroda publishes its own policy on how it accepts EDFs under Regulation 19, so the exact channel — branch, email or an online trade facility — is something to confirm with your branch or relationship manager. The form itself is the same national EDF, due within 30 days from the end of the month in which you raised your invoices.
Key takeaways
- File with Bank of Baroda if that's where the export proceeds for those invoices land.
- Get the AD code for your branch's export business from Bank of Baroda; it isn't your IFSC.
- Ask your branch how it accepts EDFs; don't rely on another customer's experience at a different branch.
- Attach invoice copies, a cover letter and payment references; get a dated acknowledgement.
- Use the FIRA or bank advice from Bank of Baroda to close each invoice once paid.
Is Bank of Baroda your AD bank?
An AD bank is an Authorised Dealer Category-I bank — in practice, the bank that receives your foreign money. If your clients' wire transfers credit your Bank of Baroda current account, Bank of Baroda is the bank that will enter your EDF into EDPMS and match payments to invoices.
Many businesses bank with more than one bank. If some clients pay into Bank of Baroda and others into a different bank, each bank should get the EDF for the invoices whose proceeds it receives. Ask both banks how they want this split.
Step 1: get your AD code
The EDF asks for an AD code in field 1.6. It identifies the branch handling your export transactions. It is not your IFSC and not Bank of Baroda's SWIFT code.
How to get it:
- Ask your home branch or relationship manager for the AD code used for export transactions on your account.
- If your branch routes foreign exchange work through another branch, the AD code may belong to that branch. Ask which one applies.
- Put the request in writing if it helps. Our AD code request letter is a one-page format.
Once you have it, save it in your EDF register. It won't change month to month unless you move the account.
Step 2: ask how Bank of Baroda wants the EDF
Bank of Baroda, like every AD bank, decides and publishes its own process for accepting EDFs. We won't guess a portal path or email ID, because these differ and change. Ask your branch three questions:
| Question for the branch | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Do you accept the services EDF at the branch, by email or online? | Tells you the channel |
| Which signatory and what supporting documents do you need? | Avoids a back-and-forth |
| How will you acknowledge receipt? | You need proof you filed on time |
Write the answers down. Next month you won't need to ask again.
Step 3: fill the EDF for your Bank of Baroda account
Here's how Vedant Infosystems LLP, a fictional Vadodara IT services firm banking with Bank of Baroda, filled its October 2026 EDF:
| Field | Entry |
|---|---|
| 1.1 Type of export | Services (it does IT support and consulting, not product development) |
| 1.4 Mode of delivery | Internet |
| 1.5 Category of exporter | Others |
| 1.6 AD code | The code given by its Bank of Baroda branch |
| 1.10 AD bank | Bank of Baroda, branch name and full address |
| 1.12 Mode of realisation | Others (direct wire) |
| Part 2B | Three rows: two US invoices (USD 7,800 and USD 5,250) and one UK invoice (GBP 2,900) |
| 1.22 Total value | ₹14,07,950 (book rates of ₹84 per USD and ₹107.50 per GBP) |
Vedant raised the invoices between 6 and 29 October 2026, so the EDF is due by 30 November 2026. If Vedant's work were software development and it chose to file software exports separately, the same AD bank route applies — STPI certification is no longer mandatory.
Our Bank of Baroda EDF form pre-fills the bank name so you only add your branch, AD code and invoices.
Step 4: what to attach
A tidy package for Bank of Baroda — or any bank — usually includes:
- The signed EDF.
- Copies of every invoice listed in Part 2B, in row order.
- A cover letter listing invoices and totals. Use our EDF cover letter.
- FIRA numbers or credit advice for any invoice already paid.
- Anything else your branch asked for in Step 2.
Then get the acknowledgement — a stamped copy, a reply email or a reference number — and record it.
Step 5: FIRA from Bank of Baroda and closing each invoice
After your EDF is in, each invoice sits as an open entry in EDPMS until it is paid and matched. When a client pays, Bank of Baroda's FIRA or payment advice is your proof of receipt. It should show the remitter, amount, currency, date and purpose code.
Check the purpose code on every credit. For IT consulting it will often be something like P0802, but always confirm with the bank what code fits your service. If a code is wrong, ask for a correction early.
For invoices up to ₹10 lakh, the bank may close the EDPMS entry on your periodic declaration that the money has been realised. Our ₹10 lakh realisation declaration tool prepares one covering many invoices. Above ₹10 lakh, the bank needs the invoice, payment evidence and matching instructions.
We have a separate guide on getting FIRA or FIRC from Bank of Baroda.
Following up
The bank should enter your EDF into EDPMS within 5 working days of receiving it. A reasonable follow-up routine:
- Day 7 after submission: if no acknowledgement, call or email the branch.
- Each month: when preparing the next EDF, list any invoices still unpaid and their 9-month realisation dates.
- Month 7 for any unpaid invoice: prepare an extension request in case you need one.
This is general information, not legal or tax advice. Bank of Baroda's own published process takes precedence over anything here.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I submit the EDF if I bank with Bank of Baroda?
Submit it to Bank of Baroda through the channel it publishes under Regulation 19. That may be your branch, email to a designated desk or an online facility. Ask your branch or relationship manager which applies to your account.
Is the Bank of Baroda AD code the same as the IFSC?
No. The AD code identifies the branch for export transactions and is used in the EDF and EDPMS. The IFSC is for domestic transfers and the SWIFT code is for international ones. Ask your branch for the AD code.
Can I file one EDF for all my clients who pay into Bank of Baroda?
Yes. One EDF per month can cover all service exports of that month to one or more recipients, with one Part 2B row per invoice. File it within 30 days from the end of the invoice month.
What if a client pays into a different bank?
The EDF for invoices paid into another bank should normally go to that bank. Ask both banks how they want invoices split if you use more than one for exports.
Does Bank of Baroda charge a fee for accepting the EDF?
We don't publish bank charges because they vary and change. Ask your branch for its current schedule of charges for export transactions.
Bottom line
For Bank of Baroda customers the steps are the same as anywhere: get the AD code, ask how your branch accepts the EDF, file on time and keep the acknowledgement. Start with our pre-filled Bank of Baroda EDF form and check the EDF due date table for the next deadline.

EDF form FAQs
What is the EDF form?
The Export Declaration Form (EDF) is the form in the Annex to RBI's Foreign Exchange Management (Export and Import of Goods and Services) Regulations, 2026. From 1 October 2026, exporters of services declare the full export value on it to their AD bank (or STPI for software, or the SEZ Development Commissioner for SEZ units).
When is the EDF due?
Within 30 days from the end of the month in which the invoice was raised. October 2026 invoices are due by 30 November 2026. For services other than software, you may instead submit on or before the date you receive payment.
Can one EDF cover several clients?
Yes. One EDF can cover all your service exports in a month to one or more recipients. Each invoice gets its own row in Part 2B.
Which parts does a service exporter fill?
Part 1 (general information), Part 2B (services table) and Part 4 (declaration). Part 2A is for goods and Part 3 is for post/courier exports, so service exporters usually leave them blank. Part 5 is for the bank.
Do individual freelancers have to file the EDF?
On 7 October 2026, RBI said individuals providing services abroad are not covered by the reporting requirement and that FAQs will follow. The Regulations' text hasn't changed yet, so check with your bank. Proprietorships, firms, LLPs and companies should assume they are covered.
By when must I get paid?
Within nine months of the invoice date for services, or twelve months if the invoice is in Indian rupees. Your AD bank can extend this on a reasoned request.
What is the AD code and where do I get it?
The AD code identifies the bank branch that handles your export transactions. It is not the IFSC or SWIFT code. Ask your branch or relationship manager — our AD code request letter makes it easy.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. Without an account, everything stays in your browser. If you create a free account, your business details and saved EDFs are stored so you can reopen them on any device.
Does the EDF change my GST or income tax?
No. The EDF is a FEMA declaration to your bank. GST (LUT, zero-rated supply) and income tax rules apply separately.
