EDF for Punjab & Sind Bank: how to fill and submit it
If your foreign clients pay into a current account at Punjab & Sind Bank, that bank is normally your AD bank, and your monthly Export Declaration Form goes to it. One EDF covers all of a month's service invoices and is due within 30 days from the end of that month, so invoices dated October 2026 must be declared by 30 November 2026. How the bank accepts the form is set by its own published policy, so your branch is the first place to ask.
Key takeaways
- Punjab & Sind Bank is your AD bank for the exports whose payments are credited to your account there.
- The AD code at field 1.6 is a separate code for export reporting. It is not your IFSC (which starts with PSIB) and not a SWIFT code.
- Every bank publishes its own EDF acceptance policy under Regulation 19, so ask your branch which channel applies to you.
- List every invoice of the month as its own row in Part 2B, even small ones.
- Each invoice has its own realisation deadline: 9 months from the invoice date for services billed in foreign currency.
Is Punjab & Sind Bank really your AD bank?
The AD bank (an Authorised Dealer Category-I bank) is normally the bank where the foreign money lands. Look at your last few inward remittances. If the credits appear in your Punjab & Sind Bank statement, that is where your EDF belongs.
If your clients pay into a different bank, that bank receives the EDF, even if Punjab & Sind Bank is where you keep most of your money. The bank holding the EDF has to see the matching remittance to close each entry, so the two must line up.
If you are a unit in an SEZ, the EDF goes to the SEZ Development Commissioner instead, not to the bank.
Getting the AD code right
Field 1.6 of the EDF asks for the AD code. This identifies the bank branch for export transactions. Your IFSC beginning with PSIB is used for domestic transfers, and the SWIFT code tells foreign banks where to route money. Neither belongs in field 1.6.
The simplest way to get the code is to ask the branch that holds your current account. In some banks, export business for an account may be handled by a different branch or a central team, so also ask whether your branch processes export transactions itself or passes them on. The answer tells you both the code to use and where your paperwork actually goes.
If you prefer a written record, our AD code request letter is a ready format you can sign and hand over. Keep the reply on file.
How Punjab & Sind Bank accepts EDFs
Regulation 19 of the 2026 export regulations requires every AD bank to publish its policy on accepting EDFs. That is why the process differs between banks. We do not list portal paths, email addresses or turnaround times for Punjab & Sind Bank, because we cannot verify them and they can change. Ask the branch instead:
- Do you accept the EDF at the counter, by email, or through an online facility for my account?
- Should the form carry an original signature and company seal, or is a signed scan enough?
- Do you want copies of the month's invoices attached?
- How will you let me know the EDF has been entered in EDPMS?
- If a foreign remittance arrives before the EDF, will you hold the credit, and whom do I contact?
Note the answers and the name of the official.
A worked example
Satluj Language Services is a sole proprietorship offering translation work to overseas clients, banking with Punjab & Sind Bank. In October 2026 it raised three invoices:
- SLS/26/031, 6 October: CAD 2,400 to a publisher in Canada
- SLS/26/032, 14 October: AUD 1,850 to a research agency in Australia
- SLS/26/033, 27 October: USD 3,200 to an e-learning firm in the United States
The proprietor prepares one EDF. At 1.1 the type of export is Services; at 1.4 the mode of delivery is Internet, since the translated files are sent online; at 1.12 the mode of realisation is Others, because clients pay by direct transfer. Part 2A stays blank. Part 2B has three rows, each with the recipient, country, invoice number and date, currency, amount, net realisable value, description and SAC code (998395 for translation, confirmed with the CA).
Using illustrative rates of ₹61 per CAD, ₹55 per AUD and ₹84.50 per USD, the rupee values are ₹1,46,400, ₹1,01,750 and ₹2,70,400. Field 1.22 shows a total of ₹5,18,550, in figures and words. The proprietor signs Part 4 after striking out the alternatives that do not apply, and submits by the channel the branch confirmed, well before 30 November 2026.
Because translation is a service other than software, the regulations also allow the EDF to be submitted on or before the date payment is received. Our Punjab & Sind Bank EDF form fills in the bank details and totals the rows for you.
Your filing and realisation calendar
The filing deadline depends on the invoice month. The realisation deadline depends on each invoice date. The table shows both for the first six months under the new regulations, using an invoice dated the 15th as an example.
| Invoice month | EDF due by | Realise by (invoice dated the 15th) |
|---|---|---|
| October 2026 | 30 November 2026 | 15 July 2027 |
| November 2026 | 30 December 2026 | 15 August 2027 |
| December 2026 | 30 January 2027 | 15 September 2027 |
| January 2027 | 2 March 2027 | 15 October 2027 |
| February 2027 | 30 March 2027 | 15 November 2027 |
| March 2027 | 30 April 2027 | 15 December 2027 |
The January row catches people out: February 2027 has 28 days, so the 30-day window ends on 2 March. Our EDF due dates page has the full list. Where an invoice is raised and settled in Indian rupees, the realisation window is 12 months instead of 9.
After you file
Punjab & Sind Bank must enter your EDF into EDPMS within 5 working days. Each invoice then stays open in EDPMS until the bank records it as realised.
For invoices up to ₹10 lakh, which covers all three of Satluj's invoices, the bank may close the entries on your declaration that the money has been received. The declaration is separate from the EDF and can be given periodically, for example once a quarter covering many invoices. Our realisation declaration tool prepares it. For invoices above ₹10 lakh, expect to provide the invoice, payment evidence such as a FIRA or bank advice, and matching instructions.
If a client is going to pay late, ask the bank for an extension with reasons before the deadline passes. This article is general information, not legal or tax advice.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I submit my EDF at Punjab & Sind Bank?
Submit it through the channel Punjab & Sind Bank has published for accepting EDFs, which your branch can confirm for your account. It may be the counter, email or an online facility. Write down the answer so the routine is the same every month.
Can I write my IFSC in the AD code field?
No. The IFSC (starting with PSIB) is for domestic payments, while the AD code identifies the branch for export transactions. Ask your branch for the AD code and enter it at field 1.6.
Does a sole proprietor need to file an EDF?
Proprietorships, firms, LLPs and companies should assume they are covered. RBI said on 7 October 2026 that individuals providing services abroad under personal contracts are not required to report, and it plans to issue FAQs, but the text of the regulations has not changed yet. A proprietorship is a business, so plan to file.
What happens if a payment arrives before I file the EDF?
The bank may hold the credit until it receives the EDF. Submit the form for that month promptly, quoting the remittance details. A bank may accept a delayed EDF for reasonable cause, so explain briefly why it was late.
Do I need a separate EDF for each client?
No. One EDF per month can cover all your service exports to one or more recipients. Each invoice is simply a separate row in Part 2B.
Bottom line
For a Punjab & Sind Bank customer, the EDF settles into a monthly habit once three things are fixed: the correct AD code, the channel your branch accepts, and a clean list of the month's invoices. Ask once, write it down, and file early. Start with our free Punjab & Sind Bank EDF generator.

Part 4 offers pairs of alternatives — I/We, buyer/third party, will be received/has been received, foreign exchange/Indian Rupees. Your answers in step 5 decide which words stay; we draw the line through the rest, exactly as you would with a pen.
The layout follows the structure of RBI's Annex (Parts 1–5, fields 1.1–1.22). If your bank hands you its own printed version, use theirs. This tool is a document generator, not legal or tax advice — you remain the declarant.
EDF form FAQs
What is the EDF form?
The Export Declaration Form (EDF) is the form in the Annex to RBI's Foreign Exchange Management (Export and Import of Goods and Services) Regulations, 2026. From 1 October 2026, exporters of services declare the full export value on it to their AD bank (or STPI for software, or the SEZ Development Commissioner for SEZ units).
When is the EDF due?
Within 30 days from the end of the month in which the invoice was raised. October 2026 invoices are due by 30 November 2026. For services other than software, you may instead submit on or before the date you receive payment.
Can one EDF cover several clients?
Yes. One EDF can cover all your service exports in a month to one or more recipients. Each invoice gets its own row in Part 2B.
Which parts does a service exporter fill?
Part 1 (general information), Part 2B (services table) and Part 4 (declaration). Part 2A is for goods and Part 3 is for post/courier exports, so service exporters usually leave them blank. Part 5 is for the bank.
Do individual freelancers have to file the EDF?
On 7 October 2026, RBI said individuals providing services abroad are not covered by the reporting requirement and that FAQs will follow. The Regulations' text hasn't changed yet, so check with your bank. Proprietorships, firms, LLPs and companies should assume they are covered.
By when must I get paid?
Within nine months of the invoice date for services, or twelve months if the invoice is in Indian rupees. Your AD bank can extend this on a reasoned request.
What is the AD code and where do I get it?
The AD code identifies the bank branch that handles your export transactions. It is not the IFSC or SWIFT code. Ask your branch or relationship manager — our AD code request letter makes it easy.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. Without an account, everything stays in your browser. If you create a free account, your business details and saved EDFs are stored so you can reopen them on any device.
Does the EDF change my GST or income tax?
No. The EDF is a FEMA declaration to your bank. GST (LUT, zero-rated supply) and income tax rules apply separately.
