Questions

Export Invoice FAQs

What must an export invoice for services include?

Supplier name, address and GSTIN, a unique invoice number and date, the recipient's name and address with country, description and SAC code, the amount in foreign currency, and — if exporting under LUT — the line 'Supply meant for export under LUT without payment of IGST'.

Can I invoice in USD?

Yes. Export invoices are usually in the client's currency. Your books record the rupee value using a consistent exchange rate.

Do I charge GST on export of services?

Export of services is zero-rated. Under LUT you charge no IGST; otherwise you pay IGST and claim a refund. Ask your CA which route suits you.
